Beyond Good and Evil 2 [EU/RoW]

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Beyond Good & Evil2 puts players in System 3, a solar system that is at the center of interstellar colonization and trade in the Milky Way in the 24th century. While private enterprises exploit hybrid slave for domination over resources, System 3 colonists struggle to survive and give meaning to their existence by weaving together the diverse heritages of Old Earth. So begins a new era of space piracy.

In this Action-Adventure you can play alone or with friends, everyone will take part in the intense action and drama found throughout System 3’s planets, moons and space. Beyond Good & Evil2 is being developed on Voyager, a new proprietary engine and set of tools the team at Ubisoft Montpellier spent three years building. This breakthrough technology is capable of generating vast worlds, tailor-made territories with rich, gorgeous environments, and robust online systems.

It’s been 10 long years since the sequel to Beyond Good & Evil was first announced, and now after endless waiting, we have been greeted with a prequel that promises to exceed all expectations. Set in the 24th century on System 3, this world has become the trade and colonisation centre of the milky way. Differing from the original game where Jade was the heroine uncovering a world of government conspiracy, this prequel is a space pirate tale, occurring at the exact same time as the rise of the hybrids. Set off on your epic space adventure as you try to deal with the planet’s future, as well as the relationships with the animals who inhabit it.

At first, you will need to choose your custom character, then you can head off on amazing quests and missions on beautiful planets and out into the depths of space. You will start from the very bottom of the food chain; a local pirate, looking to score some treasure wherever you go. As the game progresses, you will slowly start to see your inventory increase, your knowledge and experiences of the different areas will improve, and fellow comrades will be quick to join your side. Eventually, your character will rise through the ranks and become a trusted captain of a spaceship, complete with a full crew ready to leap into action.

Unlike the original Beyond Good & Evil, this prequel is built more like an RPG. It will feature both single-player gameplay as well as a co-operative online game that you can play alone or get your friends in on the action. A shared world element will also be included, so that certain actions and events will affect all the players, instead of just you. And a built-in logic system gives you the opportunity to fast forward so you can instantly see how cities and planets change over time. To make each player’s game more unique and customised to their individual needs, you will notice that travelling around certain planets, meeting new characters and collecting items will influence your gameplay to make it slightly different to the experience your friends will have.

Since this has been developed on Ubisoft Montpellier’s newest proprietary engine Voyager, you get incredible graphics, with a huge map providing endless opportunities. Fly from planet to planet and seamlessly move from streets to space without getting stuck with a loading screen in-between. Voyager will also be able to replicate astronomical physics with spinning planets and atmosphere changes. All these features and more should make Beyond Good & Evil 2 a riveting home console experience for the PlayStation 4.
